The Prescription

Why is a prescription required?

At MitoGENE, we operate under the Named Patient Import (NPI) guidelines as per India’s Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945. A valid prescription from your treating doctor is mandatory to legally access unapproved or unavailable medicines.

This regulation ensures that the decision to use a specific treatment is made by your licensed physician—someone who knows your medical history best. MitoGENE does not influence treatment choices, but we support you and your healthcare provider in accessing the right medicine when local options are exhausted.

All prescriptions received are carefully reviewed by our team and, if necessary, we may reach out to your doctor for verification. By submitting your prescription, you are authorizing us to do so as part of the medicine procurement process.

What Should a Valid Prescription Include?

To be compliant and accepted for processing, your prescription should contain the following:

  • Treating doctor’s full details on official letterhead
  • Medical registration number (as per your country’s regulations)
  • Date of prescription issuance
  • Patient’s full name and date of birth
  • Name of the medicine, including strength and required quantity
  • Doctor’s signature and official stamp

Please ensure that the prescription is written on your treating doctor’s official prescription pad or hospital stationery
